How to register for the Zero Project Conference 2026 (#ZeroCon26)

Complete your registration in 4 Steps

❗ Registering for #ZeroCon26 involves four steps. All steps must be completed before attending the conference, and attendees who have not completed the full process will not be admitted to UNOV.

  • Steps 1 and 2: Register for the Zero Project Conference 2026 via the conference platform: zerocon26.zeroproject.org and - if needed - request your visa to enter Austria.

  • Steps 3 and 4: Register for your UN Ground Pass via the "UN Accreditation System" (or: Indico). This is mandatory and no exceptions can be made.

Step 1 – Register on the #ZeroCon26 conference platform

  • You will receive an invitation to register by email. The subject line is: "Your #ZeroCon26 Registration: Step 1 of 4 | Personal Invitation"

  • Click on the link and complete the online form on the #ZeroCon26 conference platform (zerocon26.zeroproject.org).

  • You will receive an automated email once your form is submitted.

Important information

  • Please register as soon as possible to secure your spot, as in-person registrations are limited.

  • Ensure the ID you enter in the form is the one you'll bring to the conference.
    ✅ The following types of ID are accepted: National passport, national ID card, as well as the Austrian disability identification card (Behindertenpass)

    ❌ These ID types will not be accepted at the United Nations Office: Driver’s licenses, health cards, social security cards, organizational IDs, company IDs, credit cards, etc.

  • Once the form is submitted, you receive an automated notification by email to confirm this step.

  • Do you need a visa to enter Austria? Please refer to this government website for official information, including Visa requirements: Entrance and residence in Austria.

FAQ - Step 1

  • Why have I not received an invitation to the Zero Project Conference 2026?
    Email invitations are sent out in batches, starting in mid-November 2025.

  • Why do I need to provide my date of birth and ID?

    The Zero Project Conference is held at the United Nations Office at Vienna, where strict security measures apply. This information is mandatory for completing your registration and attending the conference in person.
    We will use your ID information only to register you and to facilitate your entry to the United Nations Office at Vienna for the Zero Project Conference. If applicable, the information will also be used to provide you with a visa invitation letter.
    After the Conference is over, we will delete your ID information. We will keep only your regular contact details so we can share news and updates about Zero Project in the future. Your ID information will not be kept or used for anything else.

  • I'm experiencing technical issues during my registration. Who can assist?

    Please contact the Zero Project Team by sending an email to zerocon@zeroproject.org, using the subject line: "Registration technical issue".

Step 2: Receive the email confirmation and, if needed, apply for your visa asap

  • You will receive an email that confirms you've successfully completed Step 1. The subject line is: "Your #ZeroCon26 Registration: Step 2 of 4 | Confirmation and visa invitation letter"

  • The email confirmation serves as official invitation letter for those participants who require a visa to enter Austria.

Important information

  • If needed, apply for your visa as soon as possible as this process might take several weeks or even months.

FAQ - Step 2

  • I have not received this email confirmation yet. What should I do?

    Once you submitted the form in Step 1, it may take up to a week for you to receive this email confirmation. This is because every participant's registration is manually reviewed and approved.
    If it has been longer than a week, please contact the Zero Project Team by sending an email to zerocon@zeroproject.org, using the subject line: "Registration: Step 1 confirmation not received".

  • I need an invitation letter to request a visa. How do I get one?
    The email you have received as part of this registration step doubles as your official invitation letter. You don't need an additional one.

Step 3: Upload your ID copy and photo to the UN Accreditation System

  • You will receive an email containing a link and instructions to upload your ID copy and photo. The subject line is: "Your #ZeroCon26 registration: Step 3 of 4 | Upload your ID copy and photo";

  • We recommend completing this step from a laptop for better usability;

  • The link takes you to the UN Accreditation System (or: Indico);

  • Click on the "modify" button to upload your photo and ID copy.

  • You will receive an automated notification by email to confirm your upload. Ensure you upload both required files.

Important information

  • Accessibility: If you encounter any issues or require assistance with the UN Accreditation System, please contact zerocon@zeroproject.org. In this email, please make sure you attach a copy of your ID and your photo.

  • Ensure the ID copy you upload is the same ID you'll bring to the conference.
    ✅ The following types of ID are accepted: National passport, national ID card, as well as the Austrian disability identification card (Behindertenpass)

FAQ - Step 3

  • I haven't received the email yet - what should I do?
    Once you've received the Step 2 confirmation email, it may take up to a week for you to receive the Step 3 email to upload your ID copy and photo. If it has been more than a week, please email the Zero Project Team at zerocon@zeroproject.org.

Step 4: Save your QR code

  • Once you have uploaded both documents in Step 3, you will receive an email to confirm your registration is complete.
    The subject line is: "Your #ZeroCon26 registration: Step 4 of 4 | Your QR Code"

  • Your QR Code will be shown in this email.

  • Ensure you bring your QR Code to the conference (printed or digital) to retrieve your UN Ground Pass.

Important information

  • Starting from Tuesday, February 17, 2026: Retrieve your UN Ground Pass at the registration desk (Remember to bring your QR Code and ID).

FAQ - Step 4

  • I haven't received my QR Code yet - what should I do?
    Please verify if you have uploaded both documents (ID copy and photo) successfully and received the automated notification that your upload was successful.If you have successfully uploaded both documents, please note that it might take up to a week to issue the QR Code.
    If you have not yet uploaded both documents, please click on the link in the email you have received (Step 3) and complete your upload.

  • I am experiencing technical issues with my QR Code, where can I get support?
    Please send an email to zerocon@zeroproject.org using the subject line "Registration technical issues"

  • I cant find my QR code. What should I do?
    Search for the email sent from the email address zerocon@zeroproject.org with the subject line "Your #ZeroCon26 registration: Step 4 of 4 | Your QR Code".
    If you cannot find this email, please send an email to zerocon@zeroproject.org to have your QR Code reissued.
