Trust Rugby International Group
About
Trust Rugby International (tri) is a global social movement using the power of rugby to break down barriers and build inclusive communities. Founded in Spain in 2009, tri creates opportunities for people with and without disabilities to train, play, connect and thrive together through Unified Rugby...a model based on dignity, trust and shared purpose.
What began as a grassroots initiative in Spain has now grown into a decentralised international network, with hubs in Scotland, New Zealand, Canada, the USA. Each region develops its own local flavour, while staying true to tri’s core values of inclusion, respect, teamwork, and joyful challenge.
tri-Spain, the recipient of the 2026 Zero Project Award, exemplifies this approach , co-founded and developed with Michael and Simon Artiles Shannon, it has become a leading hub for inclusive sport and education, rooted in community festivals, paella, and passion.
Across all countries, tri’s work extends beyond the pitch, supporting inclusive leadership, coaching pathways, and community-driven development. From social rugby to immersive education, tri is creating a world where everyone belongs... and where the game is always open to all.
