Els for Autism Foundation
About
Els for Autism was founded in 2009 by Former World No. 1, World Golf Hall of Famer, and four-time Major Champion Ernie Els, his wife Liezl, and Marvin R. Shanken. The Els’ son, Ben, is impacted by autism, which affects 1 in 31 children in the US. The global mission of Els for Autism is to transform the lives of people with autism and those who care for them through lifetime services and collaborative partnerships.
Els for Autism envisions a world of limitless possibilities for individuals with autism and their families. The Foundation offers innovative, evidence-based programs for individuals with autism and their families using a transdisciplinary model across the lifespan through Early Intervention and Education, Adult Services, and Recreation, with family support, research, and global outreach infused throughout each area of focus. Els for Autism strives to become a world leader of transdisciplinary customized programs for individuals with autism, cultivate management and staffing that ensure world-class status, and create awareness and engagement that drive increased fundraising and program expansion, while maintaining long-term sustainability.
