Beat the Silence
About
With our live-music event series, we facilitate access to cultural offerings for people with cochlear implants (CIs) and other hearing devices, deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals, and people with regular hearing. We create a shared space where everyone—regardless of their hearing ability—can come together to enjoy music. At the heart of our endeavors stands our core message: that people with hearing impairments should not be discouraged. It is evident in the positive and inclusive environment fostered by our events. Our aim is to enable joyful participation for all, in social life and in musical culture.
Through this project, we seek new pathways in cultural facilitation and strive to create formats that promote barrier-free and inclusive cultural experiences—for audiences as well as for the artists on stage. From the very beginning, the goal of Beat the Silence has been to make high-quality live music across a wide range of genres accessible to everyone, independent of hearing ability. What began as an idea quickly developed into a pioneering project for accessible musical enjoyment within the cultural sector.
For a world without silence—and music for all ears!
